Good news and bad news hits camp Severflame... So, I guess I'll start with the bad news first.
The cpu that was functionin, isn't functionin any more. Well, the hard drive on it anyway. It's kaput and I don't know if the information that's on it is retrievable. Regardless, Geek Squad's chargin $250 to fix it and to get whatever data they can recover... which is money I don't have at the moment. So, yeah... the files that's on it, includin Photoshop files for commissions, are in limbo. The Jungle Girl files were on there too, meaning I got to color them all over again... damn! That doesn't count the commissions that I'm workin on right now, since I didn't get the chance to scan the inks in yet.
But case in point, AWLAYS back up your work guys. That's usually the case for me, but for the latest stuff it completely slipped my mind...
Anyway, the good news is that I DO got a monitor for the old computer and can work on commissions on it again. Plus, I may have access to DA again soon but I want to make sure that things are legit before I make that claim.
Commissions are comin' along as well. 90% of them have been inked. Just got to make some tweaks to a few of the ones that are still in the pencil stage before I ship them off and get into Photoshop.
It's definitely been hard for me these past couple of years since I'd lost my job. Findin' a new one has been a helluva challenge. Still, I try to look on the bright side of things and hope that I can get out of this rut soon. Regardless of what happens, I'm not givin' up.
Keep me in your prayers, guys.

Apologies for the long hiatus, but life has been kickin' me in the nuts as of late and I needed to take a break for my mental health. I was in a dark place for these past four months. Had to mourn the passing of four loved ones, flat top portion of our roof was about to cave in and had to get it replaced, legal issues that I had to attend to, and endin' relations with a certain person due to his repulsive actions that I just don't want to talk about... all on top of takin' care of moms. So, yeah. I had to get all this out of the way and, with the help from family, was able to do so. If it wasn't for them, I'd probably will still be in the fetal position with my morale at an all-time low. The last hurdle now is to (A) get over this stomach virus and (B) get used to this damn drawin' monitor. Bessie (the name I gave my XP desktop) has finally kicked the bucket after 23 years. Now, I have to use Photoshop on the laptop via the subscription service. Colorin' on it is awesome! It's just
No More Commissions! Life Update!
Hey, everyone. It's been a roller coaster ride for me these past two months. Unfortunately, I had to pick up moms from Florida cause things didn't work out (Which was two months ago). Then, a few days later, she felt terribly ill. I tried to get her to the hospital, but she didn't want to go. I should had forced her, because a few nights later I found her face down on the floor. I called the ambulance as fast as I could. It took about a week for the doctors to fix her up. However, I still had some hurdles to jump over. The first hurdle was her mental state. For those who don't know, my mother is bi-polar/schizophrenic. Myself, or other members of the family who is able to deal with this, has to keep an eye out for her. Not necessarily all the time. Just when she has these severe mood swings that come out of the blue. In my moms case, as long as she takes her medicine, she's fine for the most part. However, I recently found out that the medicine called "Lithium" is wreakin' havoc
Tyin' Up Loose Ends!
It's been a hell of a flippin' month, guys. We lost another member of our family recently, and this whole situation was extremely difficult to deal with. He had an illness (don't remember the name) and the decision of "pulling the plug" had to be made. Ultimately, it had to be done. However, some of the family didn't agree with the decision. Hell broke loose and a lot of us left on bad terms... Though I was on the side of pullin' the plug, I could understand how the other side felt. Truthfully, if I was in the situation where I had to pull the plug on my mother... I just don't think I'll be able to go through with it. Regardless, this took a tremendous toll on my mental state and had to lay low for a while. Today, however, I got a call from my cousin to try to reconcile with the others. We met up and things went really well. I didn't hold it against them cause it was just a stressful situation for everyone. They'll be takin' his body back to Alabama where he was born. Unfortunately
It's almost over...
First off, thanks to all that commissioned me last month. I was able to stop the shut off notice and keep the lights and gas on. I also thank all that wish me a happy B-day. Some of you know that I really don't celebrate it (it's like another day for me), but they're really heartfelt nonetheless. Always appreciated. Now I know it's been a while... ... and I'm sorry I've been absent all this time. It's just a LOT of responsibility hit me all at once recently due to family issues... On top of takin' care of moms, my uncle had hip replacement surgery and no one to take care of him. So, I had to step in. 2.Moms did somethin' that I wasn't aware of... which had a lien against our home. 3. Tryin' this "Caregiver" program to see if I can qualify to be able to take care of moms and get PAID for it, and... 4. Everyday tasks to keep the household afloat. Between the constant doctors' visits for physical therapy, psychiatrists, mammogram, kidney specialist, etc as

Whoa, $250?! O_O My goodness, that is incredibly steep! And such irony for me as well. My Windows 7 desktop's 750 GB hard drive can't be detected, so I did some tinkering to find out exactly what the problem was and it wasn't the BIOS. The hard drive failed to be detected and there is nothing much I can do to fix it. The power works fine, but I cannot use the system repair disc at all. Oh well, maybe next year I can get that thing fixed... but for now, I have this Windows 8 laptop to compensate. Anywho, I hope you can get a new computer with the specs you want in the future. My dream job is to be an IT, so I have been studying on computers for the past 17 years.
I wish you the best of luck as well, Sever. You have your entire batch of clients to have your back when it comes to commissioning you every step of the way and assist you.
